Sharpie Tie Dye T-shirts

I saw this idea over at Crap I've Made and decided that I am going to send a Sharpie Tie Dye kit to my sister and her daughters who live out of state for Christmas. I am going to send all the supplies they need to complete the project including the T-shirts. This would also be a great project to do at a birthday party, girl's camp, etc...

What you will need:

  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Squeeze bottle or dropper
  • Plastic cups
  • Elastic bands
  • White T-shirts
Directions:
  1. Place a cup inside your t-shirt. Put a rubber band around the top of the cup.
  2. Color with a sharpie marker, using a variety of colors. You can start with drawing dots in a circle in different colors.
3. Dip rubbing alcohol into the center of the circle. (about 15 drops).

* Be creative with colors and designs.

My Tie Dyes said...

I own My Tie Dyes and I must say this is unique and it really, really works. I did a few a year or so ago and combined the effect with regular tie dye and it was great looking. Great post and I am glad to see this technique being used again. Peace...
